HOW WE PUBLISH
Our Standards, in Public
Anyone can post an opinion about county government. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold us to them.
01
Every Post Names Its Source
Agenda item, ordinance number, budget line, records response, or meeting recording with a timestamp. If we cannot name it, we do not publish it.
02
Analysis Is Labeled
What the document says and what we think about it are separated on the page. You should always be able to tell which you are reading.
03
Corrections Stay Visible
When we get something wrong we correct it at the top of the post, dated, with the original error described. We do not quietly edit and move on.
04
We Publish Inconvenient Findings
If a records request comes back and undercuts our position, it still goes up. A research operation that only publishes wins is a campaign.
